    shipping is expensive and takes a long time, and the companies can mess up your car BAD. you're looking at at least a week to even schedule your car to be picked up, plus at least 3 weeks to actually get there.

    When I bought my 56 thunderbird a shipping company wanted $1100 to ship it from Atlanta GA to North Carolina. I went down and picked it up myself using my father-in-laws truck and trailer.

    That's not the only issue. They could write up their insurance to basically not cover anything and/or have a huge deductible. Are they carriers or just brokers or both? Do they own their own trucks? If people think they can just pick a company from the yellow pages or the net then they're in for a big surprise.
