shift knob

    shift knob

    hey, i got one of those LED light shift knobs. its looks cool, but at night its obnoxiously bright. any one got any ideas on how to dim it?

    I think you could get a resistance in Radioshack and lower the voltage a little bit. With lower power it should dim the brightness as well.

    By a potentiometer and wire it in series witht the LED. That way you can control the brightness. What is the current rating on the LED?

    thanks for the replies. Could i find a potentiometer at radio shack too? i havent the slightest what the current rating is on it, maybe as a last resort ill try taking the knob apart. anyways, thanks for the help, ill let you know how it comes out.

    yep, thats what ive been doing, didnt even realize i was till a friend pointed it out. lol
