    Shaving antenna?

I don't know about anybody else but I think the antenna makes our car look like a big RC car or something....haha. I don't know just how I feel about it. How easy (or hard) would it be to shave the antenna right off cleanly? Would I still get radio reception?

why not just get a smaller antenna instead of completely getting rid of it. as far as reception, it's probably going to suffer if you do go through with it.

take a pair of heavy duty diagonal cutters, clip the whip off right above the top of the thick rubber part. Seal the end with some black RTV.

    Instant stubby antenna.

    Thanks to stinky.

Achint I meant cut off JUST the whip part, not the whole antenna. Like if you look at it, the bottome couple inches is a thick rubber, with the whip part sticking out of it.

I'll have to go check my wife's car soon as I get it out from under the three feet of White Death, but I don't THINK that part unscrews.

or to make it look better

it looks better you can just take the cap off of the top of the original antenna, cut off right above the thick part about 5 inches from the roof, then put the cap back on and seal with heat shrink wrap.
it looks like the s2 one. and it takes all of 3 point five minutes.

where can i buy one of the stubby antennas? i think i'd rather buy a new stubby one than just cut or screw off the old one.

Not at all. Fits the same as the OEM did.
