    SC conversion

i know its not a sedan. anyway i know the older sc300 have the same engine as a supra and was wondering if i could swap the transmissions and make it a manual? i think the last year they made sc300's was 97? would it work on a sc400 even though its a different engine?

It'll work. You can also swap in the turbo setup from a supra. The 2JZ's all have forged internals and are pretty strong from the factory.

i dont believe that the 2jz and the 1uz used the same bell housings. and there were NO manual 1uz cars in the US... so youd have the go the Rod Millen route and get a custom bell housing adapter machined like he did for his V8 IS.

you'll also need a longer input shaft because the bellhousing adapter will move trans farther back, and you'll also need a new shorter drive shaft.

hmm i know you can just bolt on the supra turbo because we had someone bring in a turbo sc300 and it was basically an automatic supra. might be a project for me later on

i think the 2JZ-GE's could handle 500hp range stock
i for one wouldnt push it that far withouth some sort of strength upgrade
th manual tranny for the sc300 was the W55 same as in a IS300 but its not that great unless you wanna keep it stock
i suggest going with either the 5sp W58, maybe the R154
or the 6spd V160 as made famous by the TT supra
