RPM unstable briefly after sudden stop?

Did anybody encounter the engine seems to choke after coming to a sudden stop? I mean the RPM seemed to drop below standard idle and engine suttered for a second or two and brought the RPM back up.

Mine will do that occasionally. Never had it stall on me though. I usually just give it a little rev to bring it up a few 100rpm's

Could have something to do wirh the brake booster. The booster depends on vacuum supplied by the engine to operate. A sudden stop could (I suppose) put a high demand on the vacuum the booster needs from the engine, which could possibly cause it to drop a couple hundred RPMs until the computer settles everything out..

Yeah, a vaccum leak in the brake booster (hole in its rubber diaphragm) would cause the engine to sputter and almost stall when pumping brakes hard and repeatedly while idling at a stop. It may even trigger a 'lean condition' or 'vaccum leak' CEL. This would require replacing the offending brake booster unit.

happens to me sometimes after highway speeds to a tollbooth or an exit. only sometimes, but when it does it, it stumbles hard.
