    Ride height practicallity

    For the 7th and 8th generation Corollas.

    I was wondering what ride height for suspensions are good for performance? And after what height would not be a wise choice and strictly cosmetic?
    Any body have certain expericences with drop springs or coil overs?

    I'm dropped on coilovers and it took me forever to find the right ride height. I have my shocks set moderately stiff so that bumps wouldn't rub my tires on my fenders.
    Front: 18/32 Rear: 22/32
    My fronts are dropped leaving only about 3/4 inch of clearance. Any lower and you'll rub the fender and actually damage it. I've already have the tire catch and pull out the lining and deform the driver's side a little when I had it lower. The rear is only 1/4 inch clearance although you can go as low as you want in the rear if you have the lips rolled, which I do. This is the perfect setup for me. I don't rub usually at all unless I hit a large dip fairly fast. Bumps don't do anything except get me worried that I might blow a shock, so I never hit them fast anyways. LOL Hope this helps.

    it's depends on your own personal tastes, but one thing is for sure and that is stick to buying parts from reputable established brands.

    Rollatuner, when you say you roll the rear fenders, what are you actually doing? Are you bending the lip that is parallel to the ground? then it would make the fender flat. Or are you bending higher up where there is a curve in the fender? I looked at Vamp's site and really couldn't tell.

    Yes, the parallel lip is bent until it is flat along the fender. The other you are talking about is called flaring and can't be done at home. A body shop will have to do that for you.

    So if you are just rolling the lip, does the paint still crack? I've heard that if you use a heat gun while rolling, then the paint won't crack.

    It won't crack if you heat it. So that is true. I didn't care and rolled it cold. The rust doesn't bother me. You can also use a fender rolling tool for easier rolling.

    rolla, why dont you just drop the front more and make it at the stiffest setting, that ay u wont hit the front fender

    I've found perfect ride-height to be with H&R Springs and Tokico HP shocks. Works great with my Rota C10s.

    The shocks are only be so stiff. The rest is up to the rates of the springs. I don't want to spend 100 bucks on new replacement coil springs.

    I have 0.0" drop stock springs. I hit: speedbumps, driveways, curbs. lowering is out of the question for me

    I rolled my fenders today and now my tires don't rub at all. Its awesome because now I don't have to worry about taking corners fast. When I would be turning and hit a bump it was really bad

    What about perfomance in mind? Say like for auto cross. What is a good height? Because stock suspension is too high and far too soft.

    If you want autoX you need coilovers. So you can adjust the dampening of the struts
