    return line fuel system

    Im working on doing a return line fuel system. I have the fuel rail done already but need to know were the best place to dump the fuel back into the tank would be. i was told the filler neck was the esiest spot. What is the best way to atach a fitting to dump it back in. Can i drill and tap it or do i have to get it welded and if it has to be welded what material is it.thanks

    call me crazy, I don't think that you want to weld on a gas tank.....besides, I think tht filler neck is rubber sometimes

    If you were to drill a hole - you'd risk dropping a ton of crap into your tank.

    If you could avoid the droppings, it might be a decent idea to do, and install a fitting to the tank where your return line can hook up to. I'd advise extreme caution in doing any option you may take as the consequences of messing something up could be drastic.

    If you successfully do this, please post up a DIY on it... would be a nice article to have around here. :)

    Id go where the rubber fill hose attaches. Theres also the overflow line from the filler tube to the fill port(behind the fuel door) that you could "T" into- I dont know the size offhand- but those two options are way better than drilling and welding a bung, unless you drop your tank and clean it after youre done...

    BTW Dropping the tank isnt hard as long as its near empty. Had to drop mine to put in my rear strut bar...
