does the supercharger hit the radiator? if it's just the hood, i don't see why ya'll don't just fix the the hood.

    Redesign of TRD 1.8 supercharger

I just heard from a friend that the 1.8 supercharger from TRD has been redesigned so now it can fit 98-02 corollas. Is this true? This news, or rumor, is very recent. Somebody back me up?

If this is true my guys over at Toyota haven't heard about it - and they keep up pretty close with TRD stuff as they're all a bunch of nutty bolt on the performance parts guys...

    er...where'd they hear it?

i've not yet heard that. the supercharger itself should fit...it's the ECU that seems to give people problems. maybe someone managed that?

I heard it was mentioned in a magazine. I've looked through Sport Compact Car but nothing there. I'll start checking the others... could've been a lie, or to put my hopes up just to crush my feelings. :(

"Often forgotten, the 2003+ Corolla packs the same 130hp VVTi engine as the Matrix XR but less weight. The 98-02 packs a tad less power but has similar potential. Rumor has it the GM/TRD supercharger will fit- we'll have to wait and see."

TRD was thinking about making one for the celica with its lower roof line and all which then would maybe fit on the 98-02, another thing I doubt though.

You would have to make a bump in the hood in order for the hood to fully close with the supercharger in it. It all depends on how big you would have to make the bump.

lekz, you're wrong. Please do some research before posting. They already have a supercharger for the 2zz. Check out the Blitz Compressor Kit. This is old news. Everyone knows this already. A lot of celica GTS's have them installed already. Blitz even makes one for the 1zz, problem is don't know how it looks more less fits. The application is for a different model corolla in Japan that uses the same motor and layout(backwards with intake manny in front). Maybe one of you here can find out for me. :D Blitz also makes a turbo kit for the 1zz, I have a picture of the kit and it installed in my Option2 magazine. Manifold looks just short enough to fit too... might be a prototype though...

they aint making shit so sftu...the zze110 is dead.

they aint making a supercharger for the 2zz either...u kno why? Look at the stock compression. If they did make it...itd cost too much with all the fuel management.

i'm aware...but that's minor. i don't consider that part of it not fitting...the question is truly would it fit in the engine bay(not height but width)

there's also the issue of it not fitting because of the radiator; it's a tight fit between the manifold and the radiator. widthwise I don't think I'll be a problem, except maybe hitting the battery but that's it.

The TRD supercharger was designed to give more power and at the same time minimize increased wear on the engine. A TRD supercharged corolla will last much longer than a turbocharged one. Plus its got a warantee. Blitz makes a supercharger for the 1zz. From the installed pictures, it has a low-sitting, compact intake manifold so it doesn't hit the radiator or the hood. Does anyone have any overseas connections? :D

i don't understand... a supercharger is 2500$ and your installation is probably another 500$ and you guys are complaining about a small modification. if anything you'll just get a hump like the eclipse. the argument is almost saying I'll spend 1000$ on wheels, but i'm too cheap to buy tires.

we love excuses and we are cheap lol! but yea with any mod you got to accept little modifications to fit right. its always true. 2500 isnt bad i mean shiet id get that on a heart beat rather than the turbo...its always money i know.
