Anyone ever done it? I HATE that pink circle. My car looks girly enough without it :?

I'm trying to do this right now since I have some free time before the double header. Are you supposed to paint right over the amber reflector? Or am I supposed to get inside the housing and paint i there?

I checked Stinkys post from Lexs link and since the vinyl goes on the outside, I'm guessing it's ok to just paint on the outside too. TIA. :D

    red-out

Paint outside, tape off and cut out circle. I removed unit from car. I used candy red translucent model paint. Looks so much better. I hope you are not talking about painting the back-up lights, I think they have to be /clear for DOT (Easy ticket).

    Here's some pics.

Yea, and making them just a pure white. And thanks for the help. I got glass paint but I'll see if I can exchange without a receipt. :)

    red-out tail lights

Model stores sell transleucent model paint...i used the spray can and it worked great. One coat gave me the exact same texture and appearence as the regular red part of the tail lights and 2 coats gave more of a frosted look.
