RE: Vamp or anyone w/ eManage & Support Tool

Just got support tool and patch- just wondering what you are using to map with- just a air/fuel meter? Anything else I should know, any rules of thumb? I have the eManage in and running w/ just the knobs and feel a bit of a *psychological?* gain all the way through. But I need some info, dont want to go in flying blind- I appreciate whatever info you have and heres a list of engine mods to help...

CAI from wheel well, plugged TB coolant, plugged valve cover ret. valve cover filter, Unorth. crank and alt pulleys, magnaflow cat, 2 1/4" crush bent, resonator on, eBay DTM(straight pipe)muffler.

Right now the eManage knobs are +20%, +15%, +10%, +10%, +10% for 2,3,4,5,and 6K RPM. Thanks again fellas...

I have to agree with blancokracker

It's called a dyno and a wideband O2 sensor, unless you have it in your garage go take it to a shop to be tuned. And just cause you pulled out some plastic trim panels and tap some wires together dosen't make you a rocket scientist.

yeah like the shop you took yours to. I had 3 beers while I put in my own eManage all by my damn self and it took me 3 hrs- from panels off to panels on.
I was looking for numbers to start with. If anyone has any actual info that'd be great. I do all my own work, My car has never been in a fucking sorry drunk tank shop. I dont trust any shop with my car. Period. People who love tuning do their own work.

Please anyone w/ info or tips? Im going forward one way or the other, its just best to know things...

*Message Deleted cuz I was pissed off and its too inappropriate*

Anyways yeh...way to take a jab. You see the reason why I take it to shops is because they are professionals that are claiming they know what they are doing. If something does go wrong I can always sue to get my money back and the cost of other things, or if they are a good shop they will give me my money back. Im pretty sure I know how they fucked up too. There are two ideas that have came to mind. But Im not gonna fuck with it anymore. Im gonna just sell it. The two reasons are: 1. They didn't reset the settings completely; or 2. They were hooking it up via the 4 speed auto ecu pinout (highly likely), just without the 4th plug.

and if you want to do your own tuning, why are you looking for numbers to start with?

    Wow! You're helpful.

I believe Vortex also has or had the emanage in his car... Try PM'ing Vamp or Vortex for more info...

FIRST thing you should do if you got the support tool is set all those dials to ZERO! All the same stuff you do manual with the +/- 20% you can setup and then some in the support tool. Also if you have the dials set and you program the eManage and ever change the dials, you could mess some shit up. It's an either/or thing. Don't use both.

Should mailed me for my manual on the install... hehehe

However, once again, I'll post the link to the manual for the Corolla's.

btw, dyno tuning is ... ok ... but the best result is to cruise it with a wideband and tune it yourself. Ya cruise with a WB goin and you'll run a better chance of getting a more accurate tune for normal driving conditions. Then if you want to *fine* tune it on a dyno thats okay. Dyno gives you a static curve, not really a day to day driving type tuning job. Awesome for pure race cars, but ass for a daily driver.

    Check this out

    http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/

anyone wanting to tune there emanage or other controller should get one of these. It's $350 but what you spend buying the meter you will save in dyno tuning. I know one person who so far has spent over 1g having his accord with hondata computer tuned and he still has to go back again because the fuel curve is leaning out the car.

The unit comes with everything you need and plugs into the ciggarette lighter in your car. Turn it on, drive around, plug it into your computer and plot exactly where you need to make changes... OR if you have a laptop and the support software for your controller, you can make changes on the fly and test them out in real time.

    Well worth the $350...

Thank you turbo 1zz for some useful info. I dont have time or extra dough for extended dyno tuning. I do want to do my own tuning, but you gotta start somewhere.

Blanco- dude you need to stop trusting "professionals" with your car or your engine will blow years ahead of mine. How does that hole in your wallet feel?

I have a very can-do attitude, Im no moron, and Im not going to get too deep into this w/o some direction. Thats why Im asking for help. Other people have the support tool and similar mods. They should have a map that works fairly well, and w/ a WB I can tune for altitude. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to do this.

Vortex- I got all my dials to 0 per the eManage S. Tool manual- I have a WB on the way to wire in. Im not going to upload any map until I can safely tune. I did play w/ the +/-20% knobs but decided until I get the WB I need to not tune at all.

BTW- My pride is what got me into Corollas to begin with. Brent Rau gets his tuning for free. So Id be at the shop alot too. Thanks again to Vortex and Turbo1zz for info I can use.

I have a wideband sitting at home. I just need to get a bung welded onto the downpipe so that I can tune it on the fly (most likely while driving down to NOPI).
