If its gets the 3.0 or 3.3, than it must be sharing parts with the Camry / Highlander / ES / RX? That's too bad, I like the size of the RAV4 right now... especially with the 2.4, it actually goes pretty good too... I like the first pic alot though, looks nice

well, in the preview, it sounds like it'll no longer be the rav4, instead it'll be more like the 'highlander' or whatever the toyota normal sized suv is. this suv was created to be a small suv with extremely good gas mileage, it seems like they are leaving that emphasis behind. the one my family has is small but very functional, i wonder why they are making it bigger? not enough sales?

yet, its overall cosmetic design doesn't look much different

true, actually they have had sales but since the Highlander came out they have slwed down but Toyota figured that by making it bigger not by much, they could sell more and have better competition to the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester and Ford Escape(and Mercury Mariner) it main competitors. I think this is a good way to get sales back up while establishing V6 to the SUV and its size.

If the weight doesn't go up much and they keep the 2.4 (or maybe the 2.7 from the Tacoma) as the base engine, but with the V6 as an option... then it will be a good idea... especially since alot of customers probably see the v6 in the Escape/Tribute/Mariner twins and the Tucson/Santa Fe and think the 4 cylinder the RAV4 just wont cut it (even though it'll run with the V6's no problem...).
