    Quick turbo project update.

For those wondering, yes my turbo plans came to a dead stop last year so it's still not in. I've picked back up where I left off though and I have all the parts except for the fuel pump (ordering that Friday) and the piping for the exhaust and intercooler, since I'm having a shop do all the welding for me. My current parts list is as follows.

    Precision SC-50 T3/T4 turbo
    Tial wastegate (38mm)
    JGSTools turbo manifold
Carsound (Magnaflow) 3" high flow cat
    Magnaflow stainless 5" X 8" exhaust (3" inlet, two 2-1/4" outlets)
    Precision AS-1021 26-3/4" X 6-3/8" X 3-1/2" intercooler
    JDM Greddy Type S BOV
    MWR 550cc injectors
    Stafford Fuel Rail
    SARD fuel pressure regulator
    Walbro 255LPH fuel pump
    NGK copper spark plugs BKR6ES-11
    Greddy e-Manage
    Greddy PRofec B boost controller
    GReddy auto turbo timer
    PLX M-300 wideband O2 gauge
    Hayden transmission cooler
Level 10 high stall torque converter
    Transgo shift kit

I'm hoping to have this all done by summer, depending on my money situation since I'm tight on cash. I'll be running 8psi for now, but I still have plans to beef up the extra 1ZZ-FE block I have sitting in my garage.

After vortex's comment, I'm not sure if faln was referring to me having to cruise on steelies this summer or replace the whole car. Lol.

So what do you think of my planned setup? Anything else I should consider, or do I have it all covered?

    no iridium plugs??

uhmm see where the o2 sensor wants to be placed... most want to go right before the cat... so when or if your doing a custom exhaust remember that...

If you dont plan to use it 24/7 since itll burn out faster if you do you can plug the hole..

The type S if you want the psshh sound they have a type rs or something as well... not sure if it is any better... depends what your looking for... be careful where you put the MAF as well!!

Are you going to run a return line??

Also 3" exhaust may be overkill... check the turbo biuble by corky bell or whatever it is... lots of good stuff about exhaust sizes and such to go with...

Looks good though... Ill have to run you sometime when your finally done... youll probably win though :( Thoise extra 300 pounds or so in my trunk wont help.... (dynamatted trun roof seats and entire back half or car 55 lb sub and larger then a 4x8 of mdf cut up in the trunk to make it all and fiberglass LoL

Copper plugs have the best performance, so I'm sticking with those for my setup. I'll just have to change them out every other oil change, but they're only $3 for four.

I'm going to move the primary O2 sensor to the downpipe and will add a second bung for my wideband since I don't want to intergrate the PLX unit into the ECU.

The type S is exactly the sound I'm looking for. As for the MAF, where would the recommended location be for that?

Yes, I'm running a return line. I'm adding the SARD fuel pressure regulator to the end of my Stafford fuel rail, then running a line back to the fuel pump.

3" exhaust should be fine. I don't think it's overkill. Rememeber that I'll be beefing up the engine later down the road and running more boost.

Yeah, we'll race. I got some weight in my trunk too, so we'll see. You also have a manual.

according to corky bell 2 1/2" mandrel is good for 350 - 400 hp I think... I need to get that turbo bible... I dont remmeber where I put it LoL....

Uhmm the MAF can be setup two ways...
    1) In the turbo intake
    2) Right before the throttle body and after the MAF

There is good stuff for bought setups...

supposedly at the turbo intake (where I have it) It will meter air better and keep it runnign smooth. The negatives are that there is a small delay (not noticible usually except one case) The case is when the BOV goes off hard on my car I need to shift it or tap the gas (since I have a manual) If I dump it to neutral and let the BOV valve go full then it usually dies because my A/F goes to like 7:1 or something crazy!!! (Im still working on correcting this... supposedly emanage is going to come out with something)

Now if you put it before the TB you have to be careful in the placement and make sure its striaght..... also it can only face one way may sure you do it the correct way (oops... I had to trun mine around LoL) And the BOV can got like 8" before it so you shouldnt have the idle problem... this setup is called blowby which can give some MAF's problems but works on ours just fine. It may not meter as super accurate but its close enough that it wont make much a difference... (I start to wonder if maybe I should have done it this way) Shops argue against why one is better but in the end they seem about the same

I have 3 Inch piping and it runs like a champ, HUGE difference from stock piping. How are you running a return line...I'd be VERY interested in doing this. I have the same fuel rail you do.
