Wraps are only temporary. Eventually they will rot. Wrapping or coating won't really make that big a difference for our cars.

    questions

Hi, I am new hey but i want to mod my car but I dont have a lot of knowledge so some questions may sound retarded and i am sorry for that anywho, I bought a forza header and i installed the design engineering heat wrap kit on it and i am wondering if anyone else did this and does it work.

P.S. I didnt wrap it to much because I know the metal has to cool off some how.

JetHot would've been better. Coatings are normally easier, safer, and better than wraps. I don't think it'll be a problem, tho.

Wrap works, but it might make the header being too hot and break it. You better check it from time to time to make sure the header is still good.

I think coating is better, first its more even, when you wrap there will always be areas which will be insulated more and those insulated less... with spray o coating you have even covreage, also you never have to worry about the damn thing unwrapping.

Yeah, I've also heard of the header overheating and fracturing. Its better to coat it or leave it alone.

that usually just happen with mild steel or ceramic coated ones. Stick to stainless steel headers and it wouldn't be a problem.

before i got the UK header on my old AE101 i wrapped the stock exhaust manifold with header wrap, and i put the heatshield back on, i drove like that for over a year and the stock manifold didn't crack.

You can also use thermal coating spray.
