Question on what type of Brake Pads I should get

I just ordered myself some Cross-Drilled Brake rotors for my 02 Corolla From KVR, I was wondering what kind of Brake Pads I should get, I see alot of people say go with Hawk HPS, if I go with them do I get Ceramic or Composite?? I don't do much track so I'm not worried about eating them up to fast. Just hoping to get some suggestions, cause I need to order them today. Thanks :)

Don't ceramic pads squeal? I would think brake material most similar to the stock pads would be best.

I find HPS pads are pretty good. Good stopping power when cold and good pad life.

so 2 for Ceramic, I heard Ceramics Squeal to, and that they can get warped, how long would Composite last on cross drilled, and does anyone think I will have a problem with Cross-Drilleds cracking on me if I don't track that often if at all anymore?

+1 for Hawk HPS. Had 'em on my car for over a year and still lots of meat left on 'em. :)

Yes, but did you guys get Composite or Ceramic?

    |-Goku-| added 5 Minutes and 17 Seconds later...

And do you guys think I will be cracking the Cross-Drilled Rotors? Should I switch to just slotted, I don't want to have an Issue.

    Thanks guys

Go to www.tirerack.com for the HPS pads. I'm 99% sure they're composite pads, but I"d have to check again. As far as the rotors, your brake rotors aren't going to affect stopping much at all. Just buy the stock-replacement Brembo rotors (~$30/each) from www.tirerack.com.

Agreed. Slotted and/or drilled rotors don't help stopping power. They only help to vent heat, which doesn't get too hot on our Corollas unless you're braking to a stop from a very high speed(not likely). Good pads and sticky high speed rated tires are all you need.
