Engine question on spark plug wires.....

    question on spark plug wires.....

    i have a 1999 corolla i need to know how often i have to change the sprak plug wire

    The manual should say..I have no idea. I changed mine maybe 8000 miles ago, but I don't know when they were changed before (I bought the car with 113k on it).

    yeah, just read the manual.
    i just change mine this year, and never been change for the past 6 or 7 years, crazy.

    I believe the 1999 model used Toyota Direct Ignition-- no spark plug wires (the coils are mounted directly over the spark plugs.)

    no its the 2000 and above that uses those. 99 and below still uses a spark plug wire.

    On further review, it seems that even with TDI there are still short wires from each individual coil to the spark plugs. I'll have to go to the Toyota parts dept. to see how much they want to rip me for them...
