question on painting 93-97 center garnish

ok this may seem like a dumb question but i was wondering on how eveyone did theres. ive tried getting spray paint but the color of my car is very hard to match compared to any spray paint for sale and getting it professionally done is way too much. i also don't think brush painting would look good either b/c of brush strokes left behind, so what did everyone do?

well i got a spare piece of garnish from a 93 that was grey and sanded it down w/ medium sandpaper. then is sprayed it w/ grey primer like 2 coats .
i got duplicolor paint match in a can (super white II)
spray , sand ,spray , sand , spray , wet sand clearcoat ,sand clear, sand, clear

it matches but you can tell it doesnt match you have to really look at it
click on my car domain link in my sig to see pics

you could just get a grey one and leave it as is.
