question from a noob bout an intake

hey.....im a noob and i am looking for some general help on my ideas for my engine before i get started. i dont have my car yet, but i am going to get a 2005 toyota matrix with the 5 speen manual and the 130hp vvti engine in it. there is no specified cold air intake for an '05 matrix, so could i use an intake system for a celica since they have the same engine? i hope to be getting my car in just a few months, so i want to make sure that all of my ducks are in a row before i start making modifications. i will keep the forums updated on the car, i hope to be able to make the mods that i want cause i am told that some of them have never been attempted on any car...period.
    thanks for the help-

Im not positive on this since I drive a corolla, but the celica one probably wouldnt work because the engine bays arent set up the same? While the celica one would be bent one way, the Matrix one may be bent another? I could be as wrong as I am right with this post though haha

    response to help....

i see what you are saying. but if i can find one that will fit in the matrix....the intake would be compatable with the matrix right? i think that the mount wouldnt be much of a prob with them being the same engine on (more than likely) a similar mount...i know that there is an intake for the 2003 matrix, but i think that the engines are different...i will find out fromm the dealer cause i want them to put on the TRD intake at the shop at the dealership. thanks for your help and advice....

03 04 matrix intakes should work. you have the same engine as all non XRS matri(ces?) all non XRS Corollas from 98 on and the celica GT.

Welll the 05 is DBW(Drive by wire)... So the intakes will NOT fit... Check out
www.matrixowners.com and you can search around as to why not... If you want to heavily modify it with a turbo or supercharger, you should not buy an 05 due to DBW. Most people there will tell you to buy an 04 or earlier...

    Hope that helps :)...
