    Question about spoiler

I want to get a spoiler for my black 2003 Corolla S. Well the guy said he would install one for 50 bucks plus cost price when I bought the car which is $400 dollars.

The spoilers come pre-painted. I went up to the dealership asking abou tit and was quoted cost price $350 plus $141 for isntallation harness's for the spoiler?

I don't know what the fuck that means? Well.

Anyone have any ideas on a way I can get a spoiler for cheaper?

I have been looking at spoilers as well, just waiting to find a body kit before I buy one.

I have the ones on ebay, seem like they are fine but I dunno anyone who has bought and installed one. I will probably get mine at www.spoilerdepot.com. $115 unpainted including all hardware, brake light and instructions. Add $84 for paint. They look like a reputable company that sells certified OEM parts.

About the harness, the dealer is just refering to the wiring needed to connect the brake light on the spoiler to the wiring that's in your trunk lid. Buying parts like that from a dealer is so expensive, kinda sucks. I want to add the fog lights that come on the S and they quoted me some crazy ass price for the lights and another price for the harness. :?

You can install the spoiler yourself so I wouldn't pay someone to do it unless you really don't want to or don't mind paying.

How hard would it be to install the spoiler myself?

Wouldn't I have to drill holes or something?

I am not really sure how they are attached.

yea i think u have to drill the holes, so it might be hard. you have to get them lined up correctly and then wire it all. it might be a little hard if you havent done anything like it.

Yup you need to drill some holes. The spoiler should come with instructions and a template. You lay the template over your trunk so you can line everything up. The wiring is just a matter of running the wires from the spoiler through the hole in the trunk lid and connecting it to the existing wires in your trunk. If I get mine soon and you still don't have one I'll post some pics of an install. :)

    Awesome!

I don't think that my mom would approve of me trying to install it myself. Me drilling holes in my trunk would be very frightening to her.

another thing is you get a guarantee sort of, cause whoever installs it has to make sure its right or they pay to fix it. like if the holes aren't completely water proof or watever, they have to fix it. but thats the hardest part, drilling the holes, the rest is just connecting the lights

-What material was the ebay one made out of?
-did you get it pre-painted? It would be less of a hassle to get it pre-painted but I also wanna make sure the color match is good.
