    Question About Key Blanks

I broke the holder thingie that keeps my key on the Key chain a while back and I am kinda getting tired of super glueing it over and over again....

I was wondering if it was wise to just buy the Key Blanks from Ebay and get it cut at Home Depot

    or

Go to the dealership and do it a more legit way.

Also, do I have to worry about a transpoder of some sort? I own a 02 Corolla S and I do not believe I have one?

    Thanks! :)

Any hardware store can do that, nothing special about a Corolla key...

unless its the gallery edition which only a handfull were made those just have the small chip inside and those you need to take to the dealer. All three of my keys did the same thing except the Valet key.i got all 6 of my keys for 5 bucks flat at the home depot here in my area. The only problem i had with one of them is it was too long but i took it back and they gave me another one.

I found this out at the dealer. i never really like the way they look.
    they have the following.
two tone, white top, beige bottom from door guards down.
    beige leather interior
    sunroof
    leather door inserts
    foglights
    sound deading material
    privacy glass
    cruise control
    full instrument cluster
    side airbags
    alloy wheels
special badging. I got this off the dealer when i was there. only very few were made.

    That is some weird stuff...

I can't find anything on google about a gallery edition, could it just be a special order for a particular dealership?

uh yeah let me go on the hunt for the 5000 that were built! I thought i was 2K but a little while i ago i called up my friend and he said there were 5K built and only 3K made it to the US. It is very similar to the Gallery Edition Camry also released that same year.
as it turns out this was a limited production car for some reason that i do not know, but it has to mark like an anniversary or something like that.

At least someone knows what i am talking about. these models have a remote locking/keyless entry and start which is why you need to go to the dealer to get your keys made. the one on my rolla had a keyless entry and lock bu ti later took it off because, since my glass was cracked it would go off quite often due to the high heat.

its like a regular corolla but the front and rear bumper and below the little dent strip on the doors is a different color. most i've seen are gold/beige bottom and white rest of the car.

that is exactly how they look, but if you pay close attention the white is actually a white pearl and not exactly a white/super white like mine. The gold is off the regular car itself. it does not say CE,VE,S,or LE it just says Gallery Edition.

    cool a gallary edition corolla?

too bad cuase i don't think i have one :p

i went to walmart but they don't have keys with the Toyota Symbol on it (yea I'm a perfectionist) :)

so i think i'm just gonna drop by the dealer and get one made for me.

$15 is about the amount of money i'll be spending i guess?

i have only seen the 01-02 model and yeah it s a company that was hired out of Florida that made for Toyota but only so much were distributed here.I know they did something like that for the camry but it was a baby blue paint with a white faux convertable top.White leather.

Anyways, what year of rolla you have?? 9th gen?? If you have engine immobilizer, you need to buy the key from your dealer (like a hundred buck).
