    question about injectors

i'm thinking about upgrading my fuel injectors to match my TRD SC, so my question is what kind of fuel injectors can i use? can i use the one from 2ZZ-GE? or is there a better one?

I need to know also...What injectors can I fit (if any, with no problem) in my 1zz-fe???
I really need some...I know the old rolla injectors wont work nor Solora or Camry. What will, without any modification or custom made--Something I dont have the $$$ for. Thanks

well i dont know the injectors flow rate or duty cycle for the ZZ series engine but why do you need to upgrade your injectors to "match" your SC? TRD designed the SC to be a self contained bolt on unit and also included a 5th injector.. just dont make sense for me..

find a page that lists the nippon/denso/bosch injectors... look under your hood & find the color... match it to what's on the list... find out if they're high or low ohm... then go from there....

heh - ya know its funny...

dropping 450cc injectors and a 3bar map sensor in (pre 00) you can do it w/o any tuning. (i know i've tested this theory) I'm running 550's and using minor mod in the compensation with my eManage along with the 3bar.

I'm guessing he wants to upgrade the injectors for when he starts to increase power out of the S/C, he has the adequate fuel for the power.

forget that.. where'd you get the 3bar map sensor? Sounds better and more cost effective than using a missing link..

RC Engineering won't fit. I talked to them over the phone. You can get Power Enterprise injectors though.

heh, not that I'd suggest this to anyone... but I used the signal from my Greddy 3-bar that came with my eManage.... *listen as scary music plays*

    *shrug* it works...

The Apexi unit is a good - but only if you're wanting to tune your MAP/MAF voltage signals and some other monitoring capabilities. It is nice to be able to tune your injector duty cycles and tweak the ignition curve as well however. And don't get me wrong - the eManage is a bit quirky until its all setup right, but once it is - sooo nice...

so how'd you finally got it right? trail and error or did you have to pay a shop to dyno tune?

some of it was trial and error - but there wasnt that much error.

1 thing however, when tuning a boosted car for fuel.... **USE A WIDE-BAND O2 METER** ;)

That thing is your friend... keep it holding right at 11.5 to 12.0 and you are golden. Then you can do some other minor tweaking to ignition, etc... dyno + wideband is always the best combo however.

a shop should have the wideband and o2 meter themselves.

I got a wideband O2 in my dash so I can street tune my car once the turbo is in. I got it for $325 online.

unless it's AFM based.. (ie, all 4a-ge and older sport corolla's).... you can't use much larger injectors before it gets unhappy.... when i turbo my aw11 (once i actually get it) i'm gonna have to use the cold start injector for extra fuel until i setup the car with a megasquirt
