Question about an Exhaust

hi, i'm thinking about getting a TRD exhaust for my 2000 rolla
it's kinda pricey but i think it's gonna be worth paying it since it meets the california law and all that..
but i've heard from some people that has TRD that it gets hot too fast and it burns the bumper...that's what i heard..
how is the experience on those who actually have TRD on their rolla?
u think it's worth paying that much to get it? or get something else?
