    Carbon fiber is light, but extremely strong. You'd be surprised how strong it is. It's all made up of C-C bonds. Weight for weight, it has four times the strength of high-tensile steel. I would rather get in an accident in a carbon fiber car than a normal one, providing it had the same safety features of a 5 star crash test car. :)

    yea.. CF has gotten a bad rep due to all those companies using CF for purely cosmetic purposes. IE single layer of wet lay-up CF on top of wet lay-up fiberglass. CF is unbelievably strong when done right; prepreg and baked in a high pressure autoclave.

    Actually, I would prefer Kevlar, although I don't think it's as light as carbon fiber.

    I still wouldn't want to be in an accident in that thing.... CF panels are expensive!!!!
