the stock pulleys don't have a psi rating. the TruPower pulleys from AEM slow down the alternator and such to give you more horsepower. The gains are around 3HP if I remember correctly; not really worth the price of the pulleys (1 pulley only). Unorthodox has a 2 pulley setup for the 1ZZ; 3 pulley for the xrs. Might see more gains from those kits.

I just purchased the pulley kit (ya it's only one pulley for alternator) for about the same price as Vpower.... I'm installing this week so i'll let you know how i feel. Don't know much about that unorthodox one but hopefully they're good.

some XR people over at matrixowners have them and most say they dont feel anything, but some said they feel the difference. some also say that it is not recommended if you have a system cuz the pulley takes some power away from your electronic accesories. some people had problems with lights dimming and etc..

[ 8) quote="[TRD]RoLLa"]i would get the unorthodox pullies but i also hear things about messing up the harmonic balancer =X the crank pulley[/quote A harmonic balancer technically does not exist. The term harmonic balancer is used loosely in the automotive industry. What is referred to as a harmonic balancer is actually a counterweight cast into the damper but only on vehicles that are externally balanced. The 2003+ corolla"s are internally balanced so use of an aftermarket pulley such as Unorthodox racing crank pulley will not hurt anything at all. I own a 2003 corolla ce with borla cat-back, aem cold air induction, and unorthodox racing crank pulley.Out of all, it seems that the crank pulley had a better performance gain than cai and cat-back all together.I also heard all that stuff about screwing up harmonic balancer and all sorts of things that do not apply to imports. These mostly effect domestic vehicles.According to the engineer at unorthodox racing (Joe Menechino) just replacing the crank pulley showed a gain of 9hp to the wheels on a celica gt-s which uses the same pulley as an 03+ corolla. You can email him at joem@unorthodoxracing.com with any questions about their pulleys. If you do get the crank pulley and decide to install it yourself the torque for the bolt is 102.3 ft lbs. Youll have to use an impact or take it somewhere that is willing to do it. It normally takes 5-7 days to reach maximum power from the pulley, disconnecting the negitive on your battery for about 5-10 minutes will shave a few days off.Hope this helped you out. Good Luck

I'll be installing the crank pulley tonight, should have a "how to" up sometime afterwards assuming I can get my card reader to work :?

I have the UR set for the 1ZZ but the alternator one is sitting on my custom 190 amp (at idle) alternator waiting to be fitted and installed on my car.

I'll let you guys know how it goes tonight and if I notice anything. I have a lot of mods though, so it might not make too much of a difference, just hoping it will rev faster is all.
