    Profile amps anyone?

Anyone have any experience with Profile amps? Crutchfield has a 60x4 for $130. I was planning on the Alpine 40x4 for $70 more. So, the Profile is 20w more at $70 less. Any reason to think the Alpine would be that much better? This will be for the four full range Polk db speakers, not a sub. It will be run from an Alpine HU. I have a seperate amp for the sub.

Profile is crap. way over-rated and poor sound quality. just my oppinion. Do some research online and look for some reviews of profile amps. I'm sure you'll find many of the same opinions.

Profile make soild sub amps and thats about it. I wouldnt use there amps for speakers though. I gave my brother my profile CL600m amp and he has been abusing it ever since than but it still work really well and never heats up. He is using it at 1ohm load even though the manual says it can only handle as low as 2ohm only.

For speakers amp, look into jbl, alpine, rf, or pg amps.

I have a Profile amp, 100x2, been using it for a couple years now, oh since 98 or so, never gets hot, good for beating.

I had a nice Alpine 4/3/2 amp, good for speakers, not so good for subs.

Really depends on what you're gonna drive, I agree. I got two 10 Kicker Comp subs, they need a bigger amp thats for sure.
