Engine port and polish

    port and polish

    local shop out here will port and polish my head for $700 and gaurantee a hp gain of 15% on a stock engine... anyone had thiers done? I'm running out of n/a engine mods. I want to run all motor...

    ask him how much extra he'll charge to port match your intake with the heads. Did he say what all he would do? Valve job? Blend the runners? If he's doing an aggressive port job than $700 is a decent price from the few places i've looked around at.

    after having taken the head off the motor, i can tell you the ports are already pretty big on the head...and dont be suprised to find that polishing them wont do to much. To build a N/A motor, youll need to raise the rev limiter, get some new valvetrain components, and get cams before you do any of that other stuff..
