PLEASE help me buy a new '04 Corolla... Pricing?

    Hi everyone,

    i'm new here to 2003 Corolla.org
I was hoping you all could help me out with some pricing information.

I'm considering purchasing a corolla b/c I just got this job in California and I'm taking a year off of school now that i've just graduated for undergrad. I'm buying it b/c

    1) my acura CLS just got wrecked and i'm selling it
    2) I don't want to spend ALL my money on replacing it with a nicer car.
    3) I've heard corollas are very reliable and hold their value.

Now if I'm looking for the cheapest possible 2004 Corolla with power windows/locks as the only option I really want, what model should I buy.

Also, what price is a good deal on a 2004 Corolla of that model?
I'm at a time in my life where I need to save money b/c I'm hoping to go into medical school within the next year. I'll work this year and hopefully give the corolla to my folks when I decide to buy a car that's a bit nicer to replace my beloved Acura CLS 6 speed.

I know that Corollas can be had for below invoice but what are the best deals you guys have heard for the new '04s?

    Thanks so much in advance.

do a search. there is a thread somewhere on here how much people bought their car for and with certain options. you can go to edmunds and see what is a TMV (true market value) and go from there. There are basically three models, with a 4th coming out, the XRS. Anyway do the research and take your time.

thanks, I've run several searches now and only found prices for '03 corollas and not any good lists of prices to give a general consensus of '04 corollas.

I was hoping someone has recently purchased one that's perhaps a CE or something of the lower end sort and could let me know how much they bought theirs for.

Now that the 2004 year is coming to a close I'm hoping I can find a good deal on an '04 Corolla to drive for a year or two until I pick up a new G35C or another CLS.

Keep in mind I'm not planning on fixing this car up or anything of the sort. Just looking to buy a good reliable daily driver. I'm more interested in a no frills CE model with just power locks and power windows, is that offered?

    Thanks agian.

hmm....The 2004's are cheaper than the 2003's by a bit. I read somewhere on here that someone got a basic rolla "CE" for around 12k new. maybe I can find the thread.

    thanks,

I've been searching around for the threads but most ppl are buying S models or LE models. Also not that many '04 prices on here it seems. I did find a huge list of '03 prices from ppl purchasing though.

The price is up to negotiation. Even different sales person at the same dealership will give you different prices. The better you do your research, the better your price will be.

Anyway, the price for a basic CE (model 1801) are listed bellow:
    2004......MSRP $14,085.......Invoice $13,315
    2005......MSRP $14,195.......Invoice $13,417
Note: Air condition and AM/FM/CD are standard equipment.

Use KBB.com or Edmunds.com for price and options. But you need to go to CarsDirect.com for true invoice price. Because the former two do not include TDA in their invoice prices.

Go configure your vehicle online. Then shop around for the best price. If you live in the Bar Area, I could get you a better price than any dealer would give you through my inside guy.

    $10,995 for a Manual CE.

I got my 04 LE loaded in Sept 03 for 15500. I don't think you can get power windows on a CE...I'm not even sure if they offer power locks (some people refer to CE as "cheap edition"), but there's nothing wrong with that. If you can afford it, an LE or S have more options for a reasonably small difference. KBB.com (Kelly Blue book) has a feature where you can select models and choose options and it will give you the invoice prices, retail prices, and the price that is reasonable to pay for. It was a great help for me, because I knew the exact numbers and ended up getting mine for 1200 under retail. On average, you will probably pay between 300 and 600 over invoice.

Look for a Corolla CE in your area. They are the basic level of our Corollas. I don't think they even have power accessories at all but you can add those as an option if you're buying a new car. I seen then as low as $10,995 here in Riverside Toyota.
