I need some measurements on where the vent is. I'd like to see if this would help clear the 1 inch for engine movement i'd need for the supercharger setup.

Yes, that is Mack's invader cf hood.

As you can see Irvin, it only has an extra clearance in one little section, and that is the top skin shaped that way. Chances are, the understructure offers no additional clearance.

Chances are gold has no idea what he's talking about. We've covered the invader hood before, it gives like one and a half inches extra above the IM.

Thanks guys for your replies! I'll see if I can find someone local to measure the actual raised location to see if it'll work. If not, I'll just scoop it lol

Why part do you need measured? I'm thinking the vent is a little too far forward. How many inches back from the front of the hood do you need measured, and what is your necessary clearance level?

Jeez if I believe correctly i think it was 16inches from the front lip of the hood. I'll double check. I think we only
about 1 inch of additional clearance. That clearance is mainly for engine rocking on acceleration and deceleration.

Here you go. You can measure front to back, either top so bottom side. It needs clearance from 16 to 18 inches from the front. Here's a pic.

Ok I'll check it out... so I know how far back from the hood to measure, but I'm not sure what kind of clearance you need.

Here's an underside shot of the hood, as I suspected, the vent is just ever so slightly too far forward. 16 inches is about 1 inch closer to the firewall past the vent.

Where I'm pointing is 16 inches back from the leading edge.

As you can see the vent is just barely in the way. I think extending the opening just slightly on the backside would work perfectly.

Just another shot showing how far back you need to go.

No problem. I think if you go with this hood, you would only have to expand the already existing vent maybe about half an inch more along the back, closer to the windscreen.

Nice, there is actually an extra space under the vent hump.

In that case, Irvin should just cut a big hole in his hood... that'll also "get the job done"
