Last one for now..promise. I had an assignment for school to take pics of people. One pic had to be with the telephoto lens. And one pic had to be when I went up to a person and actually interacted with them to ask them for a pic. Considering the type of person I am, going up to a random stranger and asking for a pic was not easy.

    Here are the two favorites.

This is the one with the telephoto lens (they were not aware I took the pic..)

And one of a kid that was selling drinks at the national mall (he obviously knew I was taking it.)

I learned how to meter with the camera which helped so much. I didn't have to adjust the exposure or brightness to those pics. I did with the color but I'm more excited that I learned to properly use the meter.

pics look good. You can also try leaving your subject off center to make pictures seem more interesting. You've probably heard of the 2/3 rule. Either people or scenery makes up 2/3 of the picture

Yea I did hear of it. Believed my teacher said rule of thirds or something. My teacher actually cropped the pic in class but it wasn't on the master copy.

I've tried what you mentioned a few times in certain pics, but my main objective was to get the shot and gtfo cause it was too hot..lol. The 2nd pic, I cropped it a bit cause he was dead center in the pic.

and thanks! I'm trying my best..its a learning experience and from the time I actually started school, I've learned alot and if I compare my pics from when I first started to now, I can actually see an improvement.

Wow. Very good. I've been meaning to get back into photography too. DSLR's are just so damn expensive.

Bodies are actually becoming quite affordable now, it's the cost of the lenses that'll mess you up :D

Its a Rebel XTi. The lens was a 75-300mm lens. It came with the kit.

Nikon's got a lot going for them as well..... cheaper lenses being one.

Deciding between the two is like deciding between an EVO or an STi. Pretty difficult.
