    PCV system

my intake is sucking quite a bit of oil throught the pcv valve. The valve is good. I noticed a burt oil smell one day when i cut the car off. And i took the whole intale manifold off one day, just to look at it and noticed oil pooled in the bottom, and the whole inside was coated with a thin layer of oil. so i pulled the hose off the pcv valve and its dripping with oil. I called toyota and the guy had no clue what he was talking about. He was like, "Well the aem intake you put on it is causing that problem and we cant fix it." which is total crap. but anyway, he also said that the 1zz doesnt have a PCV valve, so that shows how intelligent he was about the situation. So, anyone else noticing this?

anything non-toyota being put on the car voids the warranty. if a problem has to do (been traced to) with that part or whatever, they dont have to touch it unless you pay them.

with the TRD intake, i dont know of this problem occuring. check lines, encasings, etc. they could be cracked from weather changes perhaps, or punctured. thats all i got. gl man.

Not really, unless the AEM intake is the real reason theres a problem. Then they can't tell you its the Intake thats causing the problem, especially without seeing the car in the state its in. If you dont want to deal with them, i would suggest putting your old intake back in and taking it in. Just say that it started to burn oil, and dont tell them about the intake. It might be a little white lie, but the dealers take much more advantage of us so why not return the favor. Just my two cents.

I also found a fair amount of oil in my intake manifold when I removed it to smooth out imperfections and polish my intake ports, at about 5000 Kms (3000 miles). High revs can increase this tendency, but mine seems better now that it's fully broken in...I will check it again some time.
