    parts list for new year...

ok guys.... i need some help with my shopping list... i kno mwr have some sales going on before the end of the year and i would like to take advantage of it....

    for sure im gettin the:

    tein flex full race coilovers

    thinking about...:

    auto to manual conversion...

i need to kno what parts are needed for the conversion... aftermarket that is... aside from the front half clip that i need for the conversion....

    lsd... flywheel clutch... etc...

what brand and wut type should i get/need... and if you guys have links to good deals... that would be awsome...

im budgeting about 1500 for the coilovers... not sure if i need the edfc...

    1500-2k for conversion
    1300 for lsd
    1g for flywheel and clutch.

    anything else im missing?

planning on the conversion and suspension this year and doing a full race engine from mwr late next year.

any input or comments would be appreciated.

For the manual conversion, the best LSD you can get is the Quaife which is available for the C52 tranny, but it's about $1200. Well worth it, if you can afford it. For a flywheel, most people have good success with the Fidenza, and the clutch kit, if you're looking to make big power in the future, I recommend the Exedy Stage 1 or the TRD clutch. If you're not looking to make over 200hp in the near future, just get a stock Exedy.

And here, this might be handy for ya:

    Auto/manual conversion checklist:

    Manual tranny
    Flywheel and bolts
Clutch kit (and pressure plate bolts)
    Driver's side mount for manual
    Shifter assembly
    Shifter cables
    Clutch pedal assembly
Brake pedal (or grind down your stock one)
    Clutch master cylinder
Clutch slave cylinder (if not included with tranny)
    Clutch lines
Manual ECU or wire in resistor box for the auto ECU (OBDII, '96 and newer only)

Hey doc, in thread http://TRDforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4952&page=2 toyotaspeed is saying that Fidanza's fall apart and shatter, is this true? I have a fidanza and I drive my car like a stole it and never had a single problem. even with redline clutch dumps. Is this guy just full of crap or are fidanzas really fragile?

I've never seen one blown apart in person - but I've heard that ALL flywheels used in competition are prone to shattering regardless of material. Many rule stipulate scatter shields in all cases. But you cannot overcome the material itself - aluminum expands roughly twice as much as steel for a given amount of heat - could be a recipe for something bad.
