painted engine cover.. finsihed product..

    thin tape will do it, that blue tape that doesnt hurt the paint. mine is red with black letters.

    It looks pretty good.. with exception of about 10 cat hairs.. damn cat.. here is a picture of the unfinshed product in hand.. (no pun intended)...

    I want to paint in the letters but my skills are weak..

    what kinda paint do you guys use? i want to paint mines too - i lost my oil cap somehow and the mechanic replaced it with a BLUE cap! =D now i just need the cover to match

    thanx. and i can just like paint it with a regular paint brush?

    i see a bunch online - some is like $6 and kits are up to like $45 - that include a top coat. what kinds are good?

    man, im sucha n00b. forgive me =X

    nah it comes in a spray can. just get high heat engine enamel at autozone or pep boys, wherever. make sure hte plastic is clean, use a good solvent. and then paint that sucka.

    you could also wait another day after painting with color, then put a couple of clear gloss coates down.

    but it will coat evenly? im so ocd. i will be so upset if its uneven lol

    ZZE110, MA70, JZA70, AE92 GT-S x2, xB with a rollcage, 900 ft-lb Dodge Ram
    the the key is remembering to use very light coats. you can do this by just using a uniform pattern over an area much larger than the cover and press lightly on the spraypaint thingie when it's over the cover. keep the can like 1.5-2ft away.

    sooo prittty. u did the letters too? or is it just the angle that the pic was taken?
