    Oxygen sensor check help

I kept getting the P0420 code so I replaced my cat and the code keeps coming back. I am trying to do the backprobe test in the haynes manual. It says to backprobe the black wire on the harness and the voltage should vary between .1 and .9 volts. When I do it I get a constant 14V like I'm just probing the power wire or something. I hooked up another oxygen sensor and I got 14V too. Is this typical when an oxygen sensor goes bad or is the book wrong about which wire I am supposed to probe?

    Isn't that ignoring the problem?

Yeah is still doesn't solve the problem. If you're having issues, just take it to a mechanic.

I use an oxygen sensor simulator. Google it. Works like a million bucks.

I don't have enough money for that. Last time I did that they told me to replace the cat and it's already replaced.
