XRS intake whole fit regula 1.8L rolla since the engine is totally different.
    I can't get you any suggestion on those intake since I don't have 9th gen.

    out of these which would you recommend?

    so I am looking at getting an intake for my 1.8l corolla 06 s probably just for the deep sound and looks since performace wise I doubt intake actually does anything. so my choices that I found so far are
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-0...1QQcmdZViewItem

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fuji...1QQcmdZViewItem this one says its made for xrs will it fit the regular 1.8l?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AEM-...1QQcmdZViewItem which one should I go with? are there any other choices I have? I want something that is reliable and does not harm the engine in anyway or anything and does not need any mods in mounting it. Thanks

    I have a drop in K&N filter on my 04 CE. I noticed a slight increase in power over the stock (FRAM).

    I wouldn't put one of those hot air intakes in my car. You would LOSE power by sucking in hot air. It isn't really worth throwing a lot of money in a Corolla's engine to get performance. You probably wouldn't even get a 10hp increase if you put hot air intake, fart pipe, fatter plug wires... etc. The only way to get noticeable power is to put a supercharger, that's if you're willing to spend around $3,000 for a supercharger. Still, IMO 35hp increase for $3,000 is a rip off.

    Bottomline: 1zz = economy, not performance.

    I know I sound like the Devil's Advocate, but it's the truth.

    Just some corrections:
    Those are cool air intake, not short ram. It sucks in cool air at the lower front fender, gives you the best power gain. It's the best intake you can get for 9th gen.

    Since 2000, corolla don't use *fatterr plug wires, we have coil pack.

    And it's not 1ZZ = economy, FE is. GE = performance FIY

    Wow, alot of difference that made...
    $3,000 for a 35hp increase is a total waste of money.

    of all of that, i choose fujita. so far their products have shown great improvement from stock. but to be logical, here's what i did with my air intake.

    first i got rid of that rediculous resonator box behind the bumper. Then i cut that snorkel behind radiator support to where it splits into a Y. i haven't gotten to put a force air duct onto it yet but i'll get there. intake air temperature dropped noticably.

    so raInbow-star would you recommend one of those intakes and if so which one. I am really leaning towards the one for 80 bucks the ottr or whatever with the k and n filter. what you think of it. thanks.

    honestly, I had the trd drop in filter and it made no difference in my 03 and my 98. I guess the results varies. I just bought it because it's reusable.
    I was given an ebay short ram for my 03, and at wot it will definitely pull harder, also makes a nice deep sound, I had also swapped out my filter with the hks filter; but any filter will do. I would have to also concur with weezer; these cars are economic cars and not super cars and it is not worth it to dump a lot of cash into it, but to each their own.

    oh yeah I agree with you these are economic cars heck thats the main reason I bought it and that I think imo it looks pretty nice with the s body kit. I am just looking for a deeper sound kind of thing. intake is as far as I would go I would not even get an exhaust. Thanks for the input.

    for intakes you can always go with an AEM or TRD CAI if ur willing to spend the kind of cash. I had an AEM CAI on my 04' and the response of the car slightly improved and it sounded pretty mean too. As of power gains it doesn't really give u much (or at least here in Colorado cause of altitude) however it does help ur car breath a lot better. A friend told me this: "ur car with a stock air box is like you running and breathing through a straw"

    i can make you a CAI for cheap. My dad has an 06 too so i can take measurements. do you have an auto or a 5spd?

    *edit* btw a CAI will only gain you a MAX of 3-5hp on a corolla, or any car for that matter. The only reason it says 10hp is because theyre "assuming" that you have racing cams, full exhaust, ITBs and youre still running a stock airbox. Why do they assume that? so they can take your money. just FYI

    exactly, intake alone only puts down 2-5 flywheel horses which to tell you the truth on a 130 hp car is quite a few.

but i just got a magnaflow exhaust welded onto my 04 rolla s, and it sounds bad ass. i only have a drop in K&n and am thinking about the cold air, but i have fog lights which i thought werent compatible. but im pretty sure if i added cai to my rolla it would be more like 5-10 flywheel hp cause its working with the exhaust.

basically
intake = 2-4hp
exhaust= 5-10hp
intake + exhaust= about 20

    I wouldn't spend money on my 1zz unless I finally decided and have the money to go blown out turbo

    I want, when I do go turbo, CAI -> Turbine -> 2.5"~3" piping -> air to air Intercooler -> celica manifold -> 8.5:1 pistons cut to 82mm bore (1.93L boys) -> out 2.5"

    I don't see any other way to increase power in a power-4d-money ratio
