    opinions? bmw z3

Still on a quest for a possible new car. I probably can't afford this one but what the heck I'm gonna test drive one. The one I'm test driving is a 2.5 inline 6. 2002 with 10000 miles on it. If I were able to get one I'd probably be looking at more a 1996-98 range but I thought it would be fun. Anyone have opinions on this car? Here's a pic.

I personally dont like them, they seem kinda ghey. and if u do get one dont get the 1.9l they're HELLA SLOW, my buddy has one and it was laughable how slow it was. And i know slow, with my 3spd of fury and all. But if u dig em you dig em, i would never buy one.

well based on the experiences w/ my dad's BMWs I would recommend not buying one. He had his BMW's for about 2 and a half years and managed to put about 75 thousand miles on them. Once the warranties were up a lot of stupid crap would go wrong. Most of it was the gay electronic stuff that they put in just because they can. Like the gas pedal, doesn't have a wire connected to control the throttle. Instead the pedal get's pushed into the floor and a computer chip senses how far it's being pushed. His chip went out on his X5 and he'd have to floor it to start moving, but the car would start out in 4th gear so it would take like 2 minutes to get up to speed. If it's still gonna have a warranty, and you're not gonna keep it for a long time, then go for it.

They are nice looking cars, a guy I went to school with had one, he put 19" on it, and it looked nice, but the said that he should have opted for the bigger engine rather than the 1.6l

? pretty sure 1.9 is the smallest they come in

Im test driving the car tonight or tomorrow, have to call the owner again. It's probably not even an option. RWD and convertable dont go well with Iowa winter. Not to mention $$$ lol.

my dad used to have that car. In the blue color from that james bond movie. Its a nice litttle car, but it is VERY small. almost too small for someone 6" or over.

Whichever one you get just get the larger engine for that year.

but then again you figure if you're tall enough you can see over the windshield so it wouldn't really be a problem. of course you might want to invest in a good pair of sun glasses if you go for that approach
