    Operation K&N 99 rolla

So, I've been thinking about getting a K&N intake kit for my 99 rolla, but since they don't make one for my car, I've decided to modify a K&N intake to fit my car instead. Since we carry K&N intake kits where I work at, I found 4 potential candidates that might work.

here are the list of intake I'm thinking about:

So here's my plan, test fit the bend that will be coming out from the intake manifold, and the bend that will be slightly pointing down. Then cover one of the holes on the tube, with a mini air filter while drilling a new hole for the air sensor. I will most likely be using the existing tubes that are connected on the side of the intake for the other hose adaptor, they look about the same size which is good. Now for the placement of the intake itself, picture this....

with the 90 bend from the intake manifold, the tube will go straight back a little, then bend down where the air filter will be located. Since there is a big space in the bottom, the air intake will be sucking up air from underneath the car while remaining inside the engine bay away from any moving parts.

    What do you guys think?

not a bad idea... it has merit but I would try and get a cold air extension or somethin because the filter by the exhaust manifold doesn't bring power but just heat.... I had an Injen SRI in mine and the gas mileage improved a bit but power wise none...soooooo just a thought :D

actually I looked at the space where the air filter will be, its quite far enough from the exhaust manifold, plus cool air passes from underneath so heat rises above not sideways, but I see what you're saying, simple heat shield me think can solve that problem.
