    One of those days.....

    Yesterday evening I stopped on a big traffic crossing with a lot of cars around and then on my left I noticed an old blue 1986-1988 Mustang with white stripes painted over the hood. Seemed like the driver tried to make it look cool. It became more obvious when the big engine roared a few times in neutral. As soon as the light turned green, the Mustang driver gunned the gas and in a split second I got the adrenaline rush and I floored my 04 Corolla S as well. We both went neck and neck on most of the first gear. The Mustang driver looked very aggressive. At the top of the first gear I was revving at 6300 RPM and shifted to second and I was left the Mustang behind. Although it was a beaten down old Mustang, victory was sweet. I looked in my rearview finder to see the face of the driver being beaten by a Corolla - it was a 60 year old lady with white hair......LOL At that point I felt like kicking myself in the head. It was a complete guilt trip. I felt like a complete ass for racing a poor old lady in an old car. I was literally cursing myself. At the next set of light she was beside me again and she gunned the gas again, but I quietly went away. :) Thought it was really funny.

    ....do you know anything about the old stangs, kiddo? you DO realize, many of them came with stripes from the factory(or were added shortly after purchase)....don't you?

    she might have just been gunning the engine to keep it from stalling lol - my old van used to stall when i hadn't cleaned the carb in a while - depending how old the stang was, that could've been all it was lol - haha you raced an old lady :D

    Kiddo??? Most likely I am older than you (26) .....LOL. It kind of projected the Herbie kind of look with the white stripes. Without looking, I assumed it was some punk ass dude :)

    indeed...especially that gen.

    you say it was the white/blue combo? could have been a Hertz rent-a-racer.


    by the way - i use the term kiddo for anyone. age doesn't matter.
