I think the oil pressure going to ur engine would be more important... i'd rather blow a turbo than blow an engine, but thats just me...

Are you tapping the turbo oil line by using a T connector in the stock oil pressure sender hole? If so, get a + connector instead and use some hose to remotely mount the aftermarket oil pressure sender to avoid having it's weight/mass crack and break the + connector.

A 4 way tap instead of a 3 way. Another alternative is to get the Greddy oil filter sandwhich plate, which is what I use.

Yea use the Greddy adapter...you'll just have to tap the adapter to fit the gauge...it works great though...BTW vamp has a DIY on his page. PS, when you get that adapter, there are 3 ports to choose from, I used one of the 1/8th ports for the gauge, which leaves me 1 more 1/8th port, and 1 12mm port, which I am going to run turbo oil to.

No, but their plate is universal because they give you 2 or 3 different fittings to match the threading of your oil filter.

i decided to get the greddy. the shop gave it to me for 55. did you have to run an oil line from the adapter to the sensor or did you just screwed it in directly?
i also have a water temp gauge do you know how to install that?
sorry for all the questions i appreciate all your help.

I screwed it in directly, but I think the engine vibrations killed the sender unit. I'm going to remote mount it using parts from atpturbo.com and this guide on NewCelica at http://newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=124640.

As for the water temp gauge, you can get an adaptor (acautotechnics.com makes one) that you "splice" into the radiator hose. You then screw your temp sender into that. Don't forget to ground the sender to the chassis (the part that you screw in) otherwise it won't work.

that celica diagram was very helpful. That is what i am afraid of that the sender unit might get damaged bec of the vibration. i would have probably get the autotechnic. So hows your turbo plan going?

Raising your compression, especially that high on high boost is assenine. You will blow your little engine in a heart beat.

Lower your compression and crank up the boost (as long as the parts are good parts)

Your engine will blow up if you do that. You want to lower the compression if you want to run boost.

It would blow on pump gas. Maybe with racing fuel, but that would still be very risky.

i know that would happen. I was just thinking if i reinforced evrything like forged piston, resleve and rods , springs and all that
i will be able to run my setup like that with not too high boost

    vamp,

what did you do to fit a male connector to the greddy plate. I have tried to fit it and it won't work. I didn't want to force it because i might damage the thread. Do you also know where i can get those ionized couplers and connectors. I went to NAPA and they didn't have it. Thanks.

    I re-tapped it to fit.
