    Thanks!! Much appreciated.

However, I've already threaded the 1/8" NPT into the block and tightened it (not extremely tight, albeit). The difference between NPT and BSP isn't that much, is it? I am certainly going to get the adapter before I do anything else, just hoping I haven't stripped anything. Didn't seem like it when I was tightening it.

Toyota specifies oil pressure at idle should be 4.2psi or more and should be 43-78psi at 3000rpms. That 4.2 seems really low...

    oil pressure gauge....

I've finished connecting an oil pressure gauge - Sunpro mechanical. It was one of the $20 deals from Advance Auto that's been sitting in my garage for 2 years. Anyhow, I haven't tested it out yet b/c starting the car would involve 2 things: 1) waking parents up and 2) getting yelled at. So, the install isn't complete - haven't mounted it yet. I was thinking about inside the little change compartment on the left below the mirror adjustment dial....unless someone has a better idea.

The T adapter - anyone ever heard of engine vibration causing it to loosen and come off? Because oil pressure drop would kind of destroy the engine and stuff unless I was real quick to shut it off, right?

    Comments/advice appreciated.

its best to have a length of hose going from the block to the T mounted at a remote location.. OR you can use a oil filter sandwich and not T it off at all and connect the pressure sender (or oil line) directly to that.

also when using the T you need a M 1/8" BST to F 1/8" NPT adapter since the threading on the block for the oil pressure sensor is 1/8" BSP.. and ur gauge most likely has a 1/8" NPT threading.

i wouldn't use a mechanical oil pressure gauge.... something about sending your engine oil into the cab doesn't seem like a good idea..... i would be more inclined to get an electronic gauge with a sending unit....

The difference between npt and bpt is enough that it won't fit. You already hooked the gauge up though right? So you should be okay now. I don't like the mechanical gauge idea either. You might want to add some oil to make up for the oil in the line going to your gauge.
