    oil pressure gauge is installed...

I mounted the gauge in the little coin storage compartment on the left. I also used the suggestion of running tubing between the engine and the T connector. Overall, it looks alright and gives me some peace of mind. I'll post pics later tomorrow.

P.S. BTW, the stock oil pressure sensor doesn't illuminate unless pressure drops below 5psi. IOW, you're already f***ed.

something to keep in mind all the time is to make sure your connections inside the cabin are tight other wise you will have oil going everywhere..

Oh trust me - teflon tape was my best friend with this little project. Everything's secure - definitely don't want a bath in hot engine oil.

    Stock oil pressure:
80psi on cold start (high idle) - maximum when cold is around 90psi.
Fully WARM is 15psi @ idle, 55psi @ 3000rpms and maxes out @ 65-70psi @ 4000-6450rpms (around 4000rpms to redline, the pressure stays about the same).

    What's interesting:
I've noticed that the oil pressure stays on the high side for a good 20 - 30 minutes after I start driving. Starting from cold, if I hit the interstate, even after the temp gauge says it's fully warmed up (smack in the middle where it usually stays), if I'm cruising down the interstate (3000rpm), the oil pressure will start out @ 75psi and after about 10 minutes of driving will slowly drop to around 55psi where it will then stay (assuming 3000rpms). Now this is when I've gone from my home straight to interstate - that's enough time for the engine to warm up (around 10 minutes). That to me says that even though coolant temp is fully warmed up, the engine oil temp lags behind a little bit.

Toyota state oil pressure should be 4.2psi or more @ idle and 43-78psi or more(?) @ 3000rpms.

Overall it's a good mod for peace of mind.

I have a mechanical one. It's just the $15.99 deal from Autozone - Sunpro brand.

The T-adapter is a standard size - 1/8" NPT I believe. The kit should come with all the adapters for installation.

Autozone. Advance Auto also has them. Most auto parts stores do.

Woops - sorry yo! Forgot to tell you, but you'll also have to buy another oil tubing set. It's another $5 part and should be right with the adapter kits.

You have to have fittings that fit onto the ends of the oil tube - which ONLY come with the oil tubing sets...

I had t0 buy the metric adaptor for mine. Mine is far from stock. when it is cold and at 3000rpm its 98-110psi. idle is at 18psi and warm it runs from 55-90
