I added oil because it looked like it was low, checked the dipstick. Drove around for a few hours and boom it's back on. I've done this method a couple of times. What could be the cause of the oil light coming back on?

    Thanks for the help!!

No, no you need to get to the root of the problem. Unless you are burning that much oil, chances are that you may have a bad sensor. If this is the case, what I suggest doing is replacing the sensor. It may be a bit costly, but it will help you keep track of your oil consumption. Or, if you are immaculate about your oil changes, then simply take the bulb out of your dash and continue life the way it was.

So... yeah, unplug your battery, wait a little, connect back and see if your problem is still there.

usually that light only comes on when your engine is already seized up when it works anyways... lol

I'd take the light off and measure the oil twice a month

Means your oil pump is clogged or its not pumping enough pressure ... Soon your motor will blow [IMG]

The oil pressure was low, they replaced the pump. Came on for a couple of days after that. They said the bearings could be going bad, but add some STP to the engine and it should go away. Did that and no oil light since.
