well, im wanting to add my old b&m supercooler back in to the oil system of my corolla, but i dont want it running 24/7 like last time. so im looking into mocal thermostatic oil sandwich plates and for the life of me dont know the thread pitch of the oil filter. anyone know?

i plan on replacing all the old lines with nice -8 or -10 an lines and fittings for a clean install. so ill take pics and make a write up for that as well. ill even do a little write up on how to build your own an stainless braided lines.

ok so i just ordered a mocal thermostatic oil sandwich plate and the needed bsp to -8 an fittings. -8 an is right at 1/2in hose and you dont want to run larger than that because it will lower oil pressure too much. the oil sandwich plate needed is the one with 3/4 -16 threads. total cost is 100.94 from http://www.racerpartswholesale.com and even better is they have free shipping for any orders over 100 bucks... LOL

3/4 - 16; same as the MKIII Supra.

Should have gone with Canton, bro.

Sorry, I was trolling. There are documented failures about PermaCool though, which I got confused with Mocal at first.

Ah, yeah I don't like permacools products at all. My actual cooler is a b&m supercooler. I have had It on for years but didn't run it on this rebuild. Since I'm supercharging, I figured it might be nice to hook it back up. But without the filter relocation kit.

Nice, so you're just going to run the filter head adapter to thermostat to cooler?

Would definitely like to see how you end up mounting your cooler. I will be running the same thing with an Earl's thermo and canton head and remote filter mount all with -10 on my Supra. I'll use Gates Push-Lok though, because :noidea:

No, just using the mocal sandwich plate. Cooler has been mounted for some time. I'll get some pics. Be careful with -10. I have heard older toyotas don't like oil cooler lines larger than 1/2in. Which is -8 an.

Oil pump is shimmed like a boss. No problem, all legit MKIII owners do it.

I am thinking about doing this also, even at stock boost levels, because without that TBI injector, I believe I will have a slightly warmer intake charge.

A side effect of making power, anything over stock really and even stock levels, is heat. Heat causes oil to shear and breakdown and as the oil breaks down it protects less and less. It can cause all kinds of issues. It's more for safety, but I noticed a tenth of a second drop in my ets at a local drag strip. The best thing was it was more consistant thru the night due to staying cooler. It would always be quicker the first few passes, then slow down as it was ran thru the night. 2 tenths max. But rhat stopped after the cooler. It was pretty consistent, so long as I didn't butcher the launch.
