peerguarding doesn't save you from the RIAA. It just gives people a false sense of security. The only reason people moved to EDonkey from Kazaa is due to excessive viruses on Kazaa.

    You want a real solution?
    (This works for me)
Find a public wireless access point and use that to download. In the seattle area all the libraries have free wireless access. So, when the RIAA traces the packets they lead to KCLS.org instead of something.comcast.net or whatever. You don't even have to enter the libraries, you just download and drive away.

Isn't that eMule? Perosnally I like WinMX, but that's my preference...

As far as the peer guardian goes... I was just thinking that TechTV actually would test stuff before making posts for new programs/products.... I guess I was wrong!

EMule, and EDonkey are the programs.
    EDonkey 2000 is the protocol.

Peerguardian never works because the RIAA rotates their IP addresses much more frequently than they update their database. Tech TV knows very little about these programs. Peerguardian keeps you from downloading fake files, but it does nothing about the packet sniffing apps running all over the web.

I don't even watch TechTV anymore. All their reviews are rigged based upon market trends and their sponsors. Who would actually build a "ultimate gaming machine" using nothing but bottom of the line logitech parts. I'm not dissing logitech, just TechTV's choice of products. A performance keyboard would be something made by eluminex that glows in the dark, and has all the hotkeys you can think of.

PLus with most versions of kazaa lite you can keep downlpoading their newest list of known ip's of the riaa.

I dont know anyone personally that has been sued by them though, and all the sotries in the news I think are more released by the riaa to keep us scared.

Does anybody here personally know somebody that has been cought? I mean if there really is hundreds of thousands of people that have been caught already wouldnt their personal stories be on a MSG board somewhere??
