    OEM or Invader CF Hood?

Ok I have the CK1kit or bomex kit or bmx kit... etc eveyone knows what it looks like I hope... its a 2000 corolla...

what would you choose oem or invader?

So far I have 2 votes for OEM because they sa it looks like it has a nose in the front when you look at the photos... and they say the oem looks better with the bomex kit....

Basically they are $60 different in price and Im gettign a new one so I need to know by monday what to go for....

i prefer OEM...but, i've never been a fan of the Invader hood.

Derrick's got one on his car, and while it looks OK on his car, it's certainly not my first pick.

Invader, because its just silly to buy a CF hood if its the exact same as your old one :)

thanks vortex those pics actually help a ton.... Give a lot of nice angles... I dont really know I like them both.... also my car is close to the color of Vamp's maybe a little lighter so you cant tell the hood is CF until you get close which I like... I was never a fan of a CF hood on a white car but thats just me....

I want the invader just cuz I had this OEM crap CF hood and it looks ok... but I might dislike the invader and how it pops up....

the scoop isnt even functional really.... oh well ill think it over since it seems to be a 50/50 split...

To some degree it is... while it doesnt benefit you as much as it would say if you had your exhaust in the front, it does however keep the air flowing better over the intake region thus making it cooler in there... trust me, i did tests with both hoods and driving around with my OEM hood right now, my intake gets too hot for my taste. i miss my invader

it also welcomes lots of water into the engine compartment.

Well our engines are pretty sealed up so I welcome the water to come into the engine bay :) Keep things even cooler hehe.

lol yeah Im with you on the water but I figurerd it hit the intake manifold which I got from a Celica gt so water & plastic isnt that bad... also was thinking maybe I could make a small duct type thing that connected to the hood or somewhere to let it roll out the front but I thought that may make it not cool anything down anymore.....

Ahhh decisions decisions and soo littel time left to make it...

I really like the invader but I dont know.... gotta look at it more lol

That would be cool to create a duct for the invader hood to route the water over your intake to cool it :)

never had a problem with it. any water that did go in, dripped in between the intake manifold and the radiator, so I never saw any contact. besides, its all aluminum -- a little moister on that isn't going to hurt

    screw you n00b!

The reverse scoop were invented to help evacuate warm air from the engine compartment after the air move through the front radiator... then basterized by vis

well after looking at vortex's pics... and trying to remember what derrick's (vamp's) hood looked liek I decided to go for the invader since I have had the oem one for 2 years so a change wont hurt.... also my oem one was hurting to be replaced... it was from the original first GB of CF hoods made for corolla's by some dude in a garage probably LoL
