It's perfectly fine to use GR2 on stock springs. They're designed to be OEM replacements and many suspension shops use them as factory replacements.

    OEM coils on GR-2s

    good idea?!

I'm not much into dropping the car since we receive some good snow here in Canada. If I'd go with springs, it would be Tein H-Tech. Good match?

I still want the ride to be smooth enough but now the suspension is more saggy than my mom's tits (147k km on oem stuff).

I'm not much into spending a lot on my car (trying to keep the cost down) but I certainly enjoy a nice "sporty" ride. Other recommendations maybe? Don't forget I can't get a hold of all your online stores cuz I live across the border. eBay is fair but still, I lose the warraty :S:S

It's gr2s or monroe Sensatracs!! lolll

I don't see the point of buying exact OEM replacement struts. You might as well upgrade since you're replacing them anyways. Go KYB.

I'm in Vancouver BC (the least snow area in Canada) and lowered with S.tech w/ kyb gr2 on my 01 rolla. It's pain in the butt in snow, I leave a trail almost everywhere I go. :(
Good thing you go for H.tech insead.

I'm putting oem COILS on NEW kyb gr2 struts... wanted to know if I could have decent performance as it is. Not looking for something crazy. 4 KYB struts are 325$ CAN shipped from eBay (about 800$ w/ taxes @ local NAPA stores (yes!! juste for them struts!!) (I'll probably lose the warranty by buying from the states. Anyways, my friend is putting 'em on... so I'm gonna void the warranty anyways).<br />

I guess I could wait a few months more and get the some springs at the same time. What would be a good match (w/ gr2s)?

I would get them both at the same time, but stock on KYBs are fine too. KYBs last a long time. I doubt you'll need the warranty. I've had my GR2s for over 5 years and it still rides the same as the day I put them on.
