Odometer recalibration/ Has anyone had it done?

I went form 15" stock CE wheels to 17" rims. My odometer is off and I used the conversion on this site and appears to be accurate. I went to my dealer today and asked the service department of they could recalibrate my odometer for the bigger wheels so I don't keep rack up extra miles. They said they couldn't do it and I was the first person who ever asked them. They claim that this is all done in the transmission area and said maybe TRD would have something that could be installed in the eletronics to let it read properly. So now we have many questions, can it be re-programmed, what does the dealer do when you upgrade to TRD rims that they sell you and finally how can you get it reprogrammed? Thanks alot guys

I would just get tires that have some what the same overall diameter.
For CEs the stock tire size is 185-65-15, when putting 17s the tire size should be 215-45-17 thats what I have and the odometer is off by a fraction from the stock setup

It can be done, although it might be tough finding a place that can do it for you. There's an EEPROM in the instrument panel cluster that has to be reprogrammed.
