    o2 Sensor Simulator install

has anyone with a high flow cat installed an o2 sensor simulator to keep the CEL off from having a high flow cat? URD has 'em but not specifically for our car. I emailed them but still no reply as to which one i should pick for my car.

if anyone has installed one, i would greatly appreciate if you can tell me which one you used and how you installed it.

    thanks

I installed a few on WRX's and Hondas. There are the resistor type which you simply splice into the signal wire. Or there is the mechanical type which you sandwich between the o2 sensor and the bung.

im looking specifically at this one:
    http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.php?products_id=1230100014

as you can see on their application selection, there isn't one for a corolla so I emailed them to see which one would be best for my car.
im guessing a camry or solara?
but anyway, how would i install something like that? don't i need to mess with the wires that go in to the ECU?

    Instructions sounds simple enough.

What you need to do is pull up the carpet on the passenger side next to the center console. That will expose a harness that go through the floor bord on the center tunnel. That harness would be the o2 sensor hanress, I believe it's 4 wires (signal, ground, and 2 for heater). You need to cut the signal wires and wire the box in between. Then ground the black wire from the box.

I wired mine directly to the ECU harness behind the dash.

I see, does the carpet need to be ripped off the floor or what? I think I can actually do this myself.

The carpet is held in place with some velcro straps and the surrounding trim pieces. It's fairly easy to pull up. Just grab it at the spot closest to the fire wall on the center tunnel.
