    o1 evap system

Whould anybody caution me not to remove my evap system for my 01 corolla for any reason other then passing emissions? I want to remove the charcoil canister and all vacuum switching valves and hoses.

Bad idea. Number 1 reason: the ECU will hate you.

The fuel and timing curves programmed into the ECU rely on a functioning EVAP system. EVAP is built into the ECU and removing it would cause 1) a check engine light you would never get rid of unless you replaced the ECU with a stand-alone fuel management unit, 2) rough idle and crappy fuel mileage.

Why would you want to remove the EVAP system? It provides extra fuel and ultimately, a bit more power.

Yeah - I'm a little.....weirded out that someone would actually wanna just rip the whole EVAP system out of their car. WTF, right?
