    NOS problem

I have a 75 shot on my 05 xrs and the car will misfire when lift comes on. But here is the kicker if I squeez before lift it works fine and if I squeez after lift it works fine then. But if I squeez and lift comes on while squeezing it will missfire and feels like I hit the brakes. Sometimes if I keep holding the buton the car will die and I have to restart it. Does anyone have any sugjestions

Please tell me your kidding... a 75 shot on a 2zz-ge engine? Did you do any engine work to it to make sure it can handle that much NO2? What a poor engine if you didnt...

Yes I'm sure I'm not destroying anything the only thing it is doing is misfiring I am working with our local shop but like eveywhere else they mainly deal with hondas. But I've known the owners for 8yrs so they won't miss lead me. So does anybody have any ideals?

I'm not sure why it's only doing it then, but check on your spark plugs. The ignition system might not be up to the task...

As DrTweak said, check the plugs..also try going to a 35 or 50 shot and see if it still happens.

    A 75 shot on a stock 11:1 compression engine..you're braver than I..

If you use iridium plugs maybe that's the problem...My friend had that problem but he doesn't have 2zz ge.And you should use a a/f gauge to see if you have less fuel at these rpm.

I dont have NOS but my car does have the same symptoms such as "feeling like your pulling your brakes" cuz the car sputters and dies......when i checked it, the distributor cap and rotor was dirty so i cleaned it off to make sure it was the problem and sure enough it was....so i bought a brand new cap and rotor so i wouldnt have to mess with it anymore....well after we got that installed, i guess the rotor wasnt installed right so it kept missing the lead points on the cap....on top of all that sh*t, my wires are stock so they are thin as hell.....so thats my vindication to say that it could be iginition problems.....

If you want to run that much of a shot on a stock engine - first thing I would change would be the plugs. Try a step colder plug and closing the gap a bit. The stock ignition system on the Corolla is decent but can have trouble firing under NOS or higher level forced induction. If it is misfiring - I'd pull the plugs and read them - make sure that they aren't glazed or cracked. Couple of good misfires / knocks and you'll start eating plugs pretty quick. Could be be just the way ECM is setup - since you seem to have the problem during the transition leading into lift - might want to look into an AFC for extra control and engine protection. 75 shot on stock compenents and no ECM upgrades is a bit too risky / unpredicatable - but it is your ride.

    Good Luck.

Thanks for all the helpful input from the people who have some Knowlage. For the jokesters that stuff was a giggle  but I only use NOS when you are suposed too at the track so NO BLOWING UP ANYTHING!

you still voided your warranty by installing that...so i honestly hope, for your sake, that you don't blow it.

Man, even if you only use it at the track, that is alot of NO2 for a stock engine, let alone the 2ZZ-GE (which has very high compression, so its not suited for any FI applications). The parts inside the 2ZZGE are lighter (one of the reasons it revs fast and high, not as much reciprocating mass), but because it is lighter (it is lighter because they made the parts less beefy, i.e. weaker), they are not as strong and will break more readily under a strain (such as a ... wow... 75shot of N02)... so unless you took precautions in preparing the engine for that, I dunno man, I don't see the engine being intact past 30 to 35 runs with NO2...
