Nah, the corolla is downgraded. You gave celica stats. For the corolla 05 its

    1zzfe - 130hp and 125tq
    2zzge - 170hp and 127tq.

    Newbie Question

I tried to do a search and came up with so many replies it was ridiculous. So please bear with me since I'm new.

We just bought my wife a 2k5 Corrola S. She thinks it needs a little more umph.
I dont know the engine code for the Corrola. So here are my questions:

    1. Whats the difference between the S and XR? I know the XR has more power but where is it at? Cams, chipped, I looks to be the same engine otherwise so I didn't know if the internals are different or what the real difference is.

    2. Are there any specialty shops in the Baltimore region who are good with Corrola?

    3. Are there any specific products I should stay away from when it comes to her corrola?

yeah, but from what sme ppl have said, when they hooked their rngine up to a dyno, they got 138 at the crank, which is the same as the celica and mrs.

Who has hooked there cars up to engine dynameters? When we went to a dyno last year an 03 manual WITH intake and exhaust was making 125 to the wheels. Which would leave me to believe that, that claim isn't possible.

yall are stating factory ratings at the flywheel. if anyone has pulled there engine and put it on an engine dyno they would get similar numbers but i can almost promise that not many tuners are interested in flywheel hp numbers. They dont show what horse power at the wheels is after driveline loss. The factory also doesnt take a hp reading with ac or other power robbing extras therefore making it higher even after you consider losses to friction. Dont be confused by the factory hp and tq figures as they arent that relivant to how fast your "car" goes.

You can either get the TRD supercharger for the 1zzfe. You can do short ram intake and exhaust headers all the way back to gain about 10hp between the 2. if you did both those together, youd notice a difference.
