Interesting... that T28 turbo is too small though.

Heheh that's the thing... with 11.5:1 compression, you're not going to be able to boost more than 5 or 6 psi, on 93 octane, with very good tuning without some big problems. Even then...

The 2ZZ is a great engine, but it's NOT turbo ready!

true, the 2ZZ isnt good for F/I. But hey an extra 3-5 lbs. of boost can't hurt. Even with low-comp pistons etc. you still probably can't run alot of boost.

Sure you can, that's the problem right there. A properly designed turbo system including a low compression rebuild would make an amazing machine, but it wouldn't be cheap ($5000 or thereabouts).

I was thinking on doing the 2zz swap for my car but I dk I'd rather just start with something turbo and a motor that is already made to hold boost u kno... but how reliable is the 2zz when it comes to boost?

Properly built, it would be great. But for a similar price I could swap a 3SGTE in for you and you've got more potential there I think.

What would it run to swap in a 3SGTE, then?

Then that's the engine you want. The question isn't about if a 2ZZ could get there, it's about how long it would last.

Yea I just want something that will last for a while cause I don't want to drop like 8 g's in a motor swap and parts if it's gonna last me like 1 yr lol

Not at the 500hp level. On the other hand, the 3SGTE can do it fairly reliably... emphasis on fairly. At that point, you're running with the big boys, and you better have the balls and the funds to back it up.
